Aim of investment The investment objective of the fund is primarily to achive long-term capital gains by investing in a stock portfolio of companies, which are predominantly engaged in the field of renewable energies.
Investment strategy The fund management invests at least 2/3 of the fund assets in companies whose majority activity is in the field of renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro, biomass, geothermal and energy efficiency). In the field of energy efficiency the fund invests in (i) companies improving the efficiency and availability of renewable energy, or (ii) companies, active in the field of decentralized energy production, or (iii) companies, improving the energy efficiency of buildings (e.g. isolation), or (iv) companies operating in the fields of energy storage and energy demand management. The Fund may also invest in commodities in the field of renewable energies.
Investment process The investment process follows a classic top-down approach and is embedded in the analysis of other Energy funds of EIC Partners AG.

In a first step, the investment comitee determines the allocation of capital to different technologies in the field of renewable energies. This is done on the basis of a thorough quarterly analysis of the sector ( "Sector Outlook"). The main aspects of the analysis are: (1) Technological progress (2) changes in raw material prices (3) development of the regulatory environment (4) Macro-economic development. The work of the investment committee is supported by an advisory board of designated industry specialists.

In a second step, the Portfolio Management selects stocks that conform to the sector outlook. Investment decisions are made based on the analysis of the strategy and the assessment of potential investment targets.

The investment comitee adjusts the allocation of capital on a monthly basis, if needed. The portfolio management monitors the portfolio (fair values, stop loss, etc.) and discusses the portfolio at the weekly meeting of Portfolio Management. At the daily morning meetings, the days topics are summarized.
