Investment strategy Four Sparinvest's Strategic Asset Allocation investment objectives are:
- To offer continuous investment - regardless of market movements
- To offer well-diversified portfolios, invested in a wide range of asset classes
- To emphasize proven outperformance factors (currently size, value and momentum) to seek excess returns
To use knowledge of asset correlations and volatility to construct portfolios that are suitable for investors' risk appetites and time horizons
Investment process The investment process: an active quantum model
Therefore, the aim of the investment process in the equity area is a high weight in substance-strong companies, in mid-caps and in title with strong course growth (Momentum). In addition Sparinvest applies an "active quantum model". The process exists of a three-dimensional filter process with which the universe of the world MSCI is disassembled in single components.
Of the first filters is size. For it the share universe MSCI is split in 13 single indexes. Determining criteria for this: geographic situation and market capitalisation. Each of 13 indexes is sorted in the next step still doubly. In the result the best Value and the strongest winners are identified thus. The regional allocation is met on the basis of the known correlations between the different markets. Besides, becomes consider that the fund is conceived for European investors.
Bond-sided the SAA funds invest in European state bonds with long and short duration, company bonds and threshold country bonds. In the areas of the high-interest bonds and the threshold countries Sparinvest papers of the small companies, with strong balances and a low debts filters out. As well as in the equity area these factors reduce the risk.
Besides, as prudently operating investors we always believe that also non-financial aspects like ecological and social points of view as well as questions of the Corporate Governance (ESG factors) can raise the stockholder benefit of the companies in which we invest, as well as interfere with. So the UN PRI we have signed 2009.
